This document sets out the terms and conditions of FSB Connect affiliation to the National Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses Limited (The Federation”, “FSB”, “We” or “Us”).

These terms and conditions are subject to variation from time to time. Variations will be notified on our website – www.fsb.org.uk – and the latest version of these terms and conditions will be available there.

By joining FSB Connect you will meet and be introduced to other members who offer products and services which may be of use to you. If you purchase any product or take any advice or assistance from an affiliate or member of the Federation, this will be an arrangement purely between yourself and the other party. The Federation does not act as agent to introduce services and does not accept any liability for products sold or advice or assistance given by one member or affiliate to another on any matter whatsoever unless such advice or assistance has been approved and authorised by the Operations Director in writing in advance.

Right of Joining Services

As a right of joining FSB Connect, FSB Networking, First Voice, Big Voice are available to all FSB Connect affiliates, unless specifically excluded at the time of joining.

As a right of joining FSB Essentials, Big Voice, Cobweb Market Entry Report, Online Legal Documents, FSB Legal Protection, FSB Care, FSB Campaigning and Policy, FSB Business Continuity Portal, FSB Connect Networking, FSB Cyber Protection, FSB Marketplace, FSB PR / Crisis Management Helpline and FSB Cyber Helpline are available to all FSB members, unless specifically excluded at the time of joining.

Additional Services

Joiners of FSB Essentials can also take advantage of FSB Business Banking, FSB Insurance Service, FSB Communications, FSB Business Profiling, FSB Card Payment Processing, FSB Independent Financial Services, FSB Mobile Card Payment Terminals, FSB Fleet Card, FSB Business Leads, FSB Workplace Pensions, FSB Vehicle Services,  FSB Cash Advance  and FSB Business Leads – all provided by leading companies in each of their areas. The FSB does not act as agent to introduce members to these service providers and does not accept any liability for products or services provided by these service providers to members. If members choose to use these services, the arrangement is between the member and the service provider.

The Federation reserves the right to amend, withdraw or add any right of membership service, and such amendment shall not give rise to any liability for refund of membership fees paid or require any additional fee to be paid.

Joining the Federation

For joiners of FSB Essentials upon acceptance of your application the date of joining the Federation will be the date of submission of your application, and future subscriptions will be due on this date each year. Subscriptions fees are reviewed annually and the current fees are provided on the Federation’s website. By submitting an application form online, you are deemed to have signed the application form.

The level of your subscription depends on the number of employees that you have in your business(es) for which you are seeking to use the benefit of the services which you receive as a right of membership.  If the number of employees varies from year to year you need to contact Customer Services at head office to advise them of the change to ensure that you are paying the correct membership fee from the next renewal date.  If you do not do so then the Federation reserves the right to withdraw the benefit of those services which you would receive as a right of membership.  If you provide false or misleading information the benefits to which you would normally be entitled as a member will be withdrawn.

For joiners of FSB Connect upon acceptance of your application the date of joining FSB Connect will be the date of submission of your application, By submitting an application form online, or acceptance of the terms and conditions at a FSB Connect Networking event via Eventbrite you are deemed to have signed the application form

Resignation

You may resign from the Federation at any time in writing to: Customer Services, Federation of Small Businesses, Sir Frank Whittle Way, Blackpool, FY4 2FE; or email customerservices@fsb.org.uk. Please note that only written resignations can be accepted.

For paid subscriptions refunds (either in whole or in part) will only be made if resignation is received up to a maximum of 28 days after the due subscription has been paid.

Joining of the Federation is on a personal basis. There is no facility for corporate membership.

The Federation does not accept liability for any advice given to affiliate or member either by other affiliates or members of the Federation, FSB Connect, Federation employees or anyone purporting to act on behalf of the Federation. Any advice provided to affiliates or members is intended as initial guidance only and should not be relied upon or acted upon as substantive advice by the third party, who should seek appropriate independent professional advice according to the nature of their problem.

Within 14 days of completing your application you will be contacted by one of our personnel with further details of our benefits and by submitting your application you give your consent for us to contact you.

The Federation reserves the right to refuse any application to join the any FSB joining category.

On cancellation taking effect, or on other termination, the benefits of the joining package will cease and you will not be entitled to the benefit of any part of the package which was due to be provided or fulfilled after the date of such cancellation/termination.

How we communicate with you

When you join the Federation, you provide us with your personal details, including your address and email. By giving us this information you are agreeing that the Federation  contact you from time to time by telephone, email, SMS, text message or post with information related to services, products and events.

You may, at any time, update and amend your preferred method(s) of communication, opt out of receiving communications from the Federation, change your contact details or set your email preferences, by contacting 0808 20 20 888.

Privacy

We take your privacy very seriously. Occasionally, in order to enhance your affiliation to the Federation, we may provide selected information (excluding ‘sensitive personal data’) to other organisations who have been selected to provide services to Federation members. This will only be done, however, when the Federation has approved by licence or other agreement the way in which those organisations will use such personal data, with a view to improving the value of Federation membership and at all times in accordance with the Federation’s Privacy Policy.

By using the FSB’s website, you consent to and agree to comply with the terms outlined above.

FSB Online Member Directory

The details of members’ businesses in the FSB Online Directory are provided by the members promoting them.

The Federation of Small Businesses is not responsible for the content nor does it make any recommendations or provide any warranties whatsoever in respect of any business, product or service save that the owner is a member subject to the rules of the Federation.

Users of the Online Directory must satisfy themselves of the suitability and qualifications of the supplier and the product or service to be supplied before entering into any contract with a member’s business.

As an FSB member, I agree:

You acknowledge that misuse of the “members’ only online database” as outlined above is a breach of both the main Terms and Conditions and the Code of Conduct you have contracted to abide by and will result in the removal of your membership of the FSB.
