[Click back to return to the form]

This document sets out the terms and conditions of membership of the National Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses Limited (“the Federation”, “FSB, “We” or “Us”) and should be read in conjunction with the Articles of Association which contain provisions relevant to the operation of the Federation.

These terms and conditions are subject to variation from time to time. Variations will be notified on our website – www.fsb.org.uk – and the latest version of these terms and conditions will be available there.

The Articles of Association may be found at www.fsb.org.uk/memdocs or on request from the Company Secretary, National Federation of Self-Employed and Small Businesses Limited, Sir Frank Whittle Way, Blackpool, FY4 2FE.

Through your membership with the FSB, you will meet and be introduced to other members who offer products and services which may be of use to you in your business. If you purchase any product or take any advice or assistance from another member of the Federation, this will be an arrangement purely between yourself and the other member. The Federation does not act as agent to introduce one member’s services to another member and does not accept any liability for products sold or advice or assistance given by one member to another member on any matter whatsoever unless such advice and assistance has been approved and authorised by the Operations Director in writing in advance.

Eligibility for Membership
Membership of the Federation shall be limited to self-employed persons and to persons who otherwise direct or control a small business in the United Kingdom who at the time of joining employ or control less than 250 employees and who are not wholly publicly funded or are otherwise acceptable to the council.

Right of Membership Services
As a right of membership, FSB Legal Protection Scheme, FSB Care, FSB Campaigning and Policy, FSB Business Continuity Portal, and FSB Commercial Insurance Helpline are available to all FSB members.

Additional Services
FSB members can also take advantage of FSB Business Banking, FSB Insurance Service, FSB Communications, FSB Card Payment Processing, FSB Independent Financial Services, FSB Finance for Business, FSB Mobile Card Payment Terminals, FSB Fuel Card, FSB Business Leads, FSB Print and Mail, FSB Pension Scheme for Members, FSB Vehicle Services, and FSB Cash Advance - all provided by leading organisations in each of the areas.

The Federation reserves the right to amend or withdraw any right of membership services or additional services, and such amendment shall not give rise to any liability for refund of membership fees paid. Other additional services may also be offered from time to time.

Joining the Federation
Upon acceptance of your application the date of joining the Federation will be the date of submission of your application, and future subscriptions will be due on this date each year. Subscriptions fees are reviewed annually and the current fees are provided on the Federation’s website. By submitting an application form online, you are deemed to have signed the application form.

Resignation
You may resign from the Federation at any time by writing to the [insert name of contact], Federation of Small Businesses, Sir Frank Whittle Way, Blackpool, FY4 2FE. Please note that only written resignations can be accepted.

Refunds of subscriptions (in whole or in part) will only be made if resignation is received up to a maximum of 28 days after the due subscription has been paid.

Membership of the Federation is on a personal basis. There is no facility for corporate membership.

The Federation does not accept liability for any advice given to members either by other members or Federation employees or anyone purporting to act on behalf of the Federation. Any advice provided to members is intended as initial guidance only and should not be relied upon or acted upon as substantive advice by the member who should seek appropriate independent professional advice according to the nature of their problem. This does not apply to advice given by the contracted service providers of the Federation.

Within 14 days of completing your application you will be contacted by one of our personnel with further details of our benefits and by submitting your application you give your consent for us to contact you.

The Federation reserves the right to refuse any application for membership and to refuse to accept the renewal subscription from any member in accordance with its Articles of Association. If your application is refused any subscription paid will be returned to you.

The Association may terminate your membership according to the provisions of Article 10(c) of the Articles of Association. If membership is terminated under such circumstances, no refund of membership subscriptions will be made.

On cancellation taking effect or on other termination the benefits of the membership package will cease and you will not be entitled to the benefit of any part of the package to be provided or fulfilled after the date of cancellation/termination.

When you join the Federation, you provide us with your personal details, including your address and email. Privacy
